Interested in becoming a referee?

New referees are required to complete an online module, in person field session, and background check if over the age of 18.  For detailed instructions on registering for a Grassroots Referee class, click the button below.

Also check out these testimonies from some of our younger referees.

I referee because...

"When you walk out to the field, your heart begins to race, the adrenaline begins to run rampant throughout your body. The excitement takes over. Officiating is similar to playing the game -- full of emotion. I love being in complete control, maintaining the calmness and the challenge to make a split-second decision. You simply make sure the game is played as fairly as possible. We make mistakes but we make them with the honest attempt to be right 100% of the time. I like being held to that high standard. Not to mention all of the amazing friendships I have made along the way that will last a lifetime."

Refereeing has taught me...

  • time management

  • organization/planning

  • problem solving

  • perseverance

  • people management
